Minorities at Risk: A Global Discourse on the ‘Politics of Othering’

Minority questions have never been more crucial than today, as many regional, national and international conflicts break out from the power dynamics between minority and majority embroiled in the ‘politics of othering.’ Minority Studies developed in universities across the world in the 1960s and 70s as a result of various social reform movements to address overwhelming social issues, discrimination and racism. Minority Studies analyse the social histories and socio-economic and ethno-religious conditions of minority groups and the challenges confronting various racial, ethnic, sexual, gender, and other minority groups in the world.
